Centre seal

Also called a pillow pack: one seal runs down the back and two cross seals close the ends. It is the classic chips and namkeen pack, made at high speed on vertical FFS machines from roll stock.

3 side seal

A flat pouch sealed on three sides and filled through the fourth. Common for sachets of spices, shampoo, and tea, and for single servings. Simple, economical, and easy to print edge to edge.

Stand-up and zip lock

A folded gusset in the base lets the pouch stand on the shelf; a press-to-close zip makes it resealable. Used for dry fruits, snacks, pet treats, and premium foods where shelf presence and reuse matter.

Side and bottom gusset

Side gusset pouches fold in at the sides so they expand to hold more, which suits tea, coffee, rice, and flour. Bottom gusset (flat bottom) pouches have a box-like base that stands squarely and shows five printable faces, common for coffee and pet food.

Vacuum pouches

Flat pouches made from tough, puncture-resistant structures, often with BOPA (nylon), so air can be drawn out before sealing. Used for cheese, dates, nuts, and other products that keep longer without air.
